Gulbarga Tourism

 
Gulbarga is located in the northeastern part in Karnataka state. Gulbarga is located in a Deccan plateau. Gulbarga It is one of the major district and Fourth biggest city of Karnataka state. Gulbarga was the capital city of the Bahamani Kingdom in 1347. Gulbarga was formally a part of Hyderabad state and in 1956 the district became a part of Karnataka then as (Mysore state).

The river system: The two main rivers are Krishna and Bhīma.

Best time to visit:
Between the months of October and February

Climatic conditions:
Summer: 40°C to 46°C, Monsoon: 27°C to 34°C, Winter: 10°C to 26°C

How to Reach:

Airways: Hyderabad airport is the nearest airport to the city. It’s about 225kms from the city.

Railways: Gulbarga city has a central south railway station. There are daily train access from Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad.

Roadways: There are frequent buses from Bangalore its about 610 kms away and Hyderabad are about 225kms away from the city.

Gulbarga fort:










The Gulbarga fort is built in 1347. The fort is one of the finest examples for Islamic architecture in Karnataka. The fort is built with well planning the canal is made around the fort so that it becomes difficult to the enemy.

The fort was occupied by the Bahamani sultanate the fort contained 15 towers and 26 guns of which one is 8 meters long, and several beautiful courtyards.

Gulbarga fort is recognized as a national monument by the Archaeological Society of India and is looked after by The Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Remains Act of 1958.

Jami Masjid:





















The masjid was built inside the fort in 1367, by using Persian architectural style.

The masjid has 5 domes, 75 small domes and 250 arches the masjid was one of the first in south India.



Khwaja Bande Nawaz Dargah:




















The tomb of Bande Nawaz the great Sufi saint, who came to Ahsanabad now called as Gulbarga in 1413.

His tombs have walls painting and mosque built by Mugals is near the tomb. The masjid is in Indo-saracenic style the painting on wall have a mix of Turkish and iranic influence.

According to Muslim calendar Zul-Qa’Dah the famous Dargah takes place on the 15, 16 and 17 day for which huge number of people across different regions, irrespective of religion and beliefs gather to seek blessings.

Sharana Basaveshwara Temple:













In north-eastern part of Karnataka an ancient town in Gulbarga district the temple is situated. The temple is an eminent Hindu religious and philosopher, Shri Sharana Basaveshwara a Lingayata saint of 18th century, inside in the center has the Samadhi of Sharana Basaveshwara

Every year large number of devotes witness the annual car festival of the saint Sharana Basaveshwara temple to honor the death anniversary of the social reformer Sharana Basaveshwara.

Dhabi Dhabi Falls and Chintanalli:










The name only has the sound description in it according to Kannada language, and also the place is must visit spot in Gulbarga the falls is located 5kms away from Gurmitkal. The falls is also surrounded with beautiful natural scenic.

It’s about 150 kms from Gulbarga is one of the popular spot and a picnic spot and also near Kandkoor there is ‘Chintanalli’ one of the famous temple of ‘Gavi Siddeshwar’ the temple entrance has a natural water flowing inside the Gavi Siddeshwar deity resides. The temple is located 20kms away from yadgir. Best visit in monsoon season one should be careful with the steps as it will be slipary.


Chandrampalli Dam:





















The chandrapalli is the village which is 12 kms away from Chicholi. In this village there are mountains surrounded looks beautiful just about 0.5 kms away.

A dam is constructed on river Bhīma is located between the two mountains and nearby there is a beautiful island located where camping, trekking will take place there is a hanuman temple which joins the hill can be reached by climbing some steps. The Gottam Gotta forest is surrounded in back of the dam.


Gottam Gotta forest:

The forest is Around 7 km from chandrapallidam. It is a perfect place for trekking.

Chandralamba temple:




 The temple is located in sannathi village it’s a small village, located in the banks of river   Bhīma the temple is very famous and the excavations buy ASI in 1986. BSNL and Airtel network is available and there is two small canteens fulfilling the needs of the visitors.


Koranti Hanuman Temple:


















Koranthi hanuman temple is a major attraction for tourists in Gulbarga. The temple was established in the year 1957 and even today the temple premises are maintained well. 
As the devotees can also attend the arathi of morning and evening the surrounding of the temple is a calm and pleasant place as one can sit and gaze the beauty.


Shahpur Karnataka:












Shahapur is a town and taluk. The old name was sagar. It’s about 70 kms from Gulbarga, sleeping Buddha hill is made up of four hills looks like a sleeping Buddha this is a nature’s gift and a tourist attraction. The place is known for its temples and forts.

There are many famous temples situated near by Shahpur
Chara Basaveshwara temple is surrounded by hills in all directions, Siddlingeshwara temple, Diggi sangameshwara temple (it’s the original place of siddeshwara temple of solapur Maharastra, Bheemarayan gudi temple, Shri Ananthanath bhagawan jain temple, world’s finest uranium ore base Gogi.

Sri Kshetra Ghangapur: 














Ghangapur is a famous pilgrimage center of God Sri Sadguru Dattatreya, is one of the famous Dattatreya Peethas is associated With Sri Nrusimha saraswathi swamy an incarnation of Lord Dattatreya. The sri kshetra is located approx. about 40 kms from Gulbarga. 

The place is stands on the banks of river Bhīma. By 12 in the noon all the tourists are given free meals in the food BIKSHA. 

Buddha vihar:



Buddha vihar is located in Gulbarga in premises of 70 acre land. It’s considered to be the largest of its kind in the nation its considered as one of the biggest in the entire south India this was constructed by Siddartha vihar trust at a cost of more than 8 crore. The place is very calm and pleasant and one of the tourists place a must visit place.



Appankere:




















There is huge water in the internal part of Gulbarga a natural heritage is a tank is known as “Appankere”. 
Is situated the center of the city and one of the popular outing place for lacals.


Narayanapura Dam:















It is 120 kms from Gulbarga and the place also has Jaladurga Falls formed by river Krishna.

The kesaratgi farm:












 An existing farm of the Zilla Panchayat. It has lot of potential to be developed as a picnic spot in Gulbarga.



Haft Gumbad or The Seven tombs:













Haft Gumbaz is a group of seven tombs also known as seven Gumbaz.

The math is located in malkhed it is a place where Sri Teekacharya Vrundavana resides there many devotes visit this place. 

Yeti poth nala and Nazarapur falls:

These falls are the major falls in Gulbarga district of Chincholli block. There are magnificent to view in rainy days.

Uplloan Hills:

Around 10 km from Gulbarga. It is highly suitable place for to visit in and around Gulbarga City.

Jevargi:

 It is a popular Jain pilgrim Center  about 40 kms from Gulbarga. It is situated on the bank of the Bhīma River and has are many sacred Jain basantis.
